This year, our school joins the global Catholic community in celebrating the Year of Jubilee under the inspiring theme: Pilgrims of Hope. Rooted in the tradition of pilgrimage, this Jubilee calls us to journey with faith and live as witnesses of hope in a world yearning for peace and compassion. This Jubilee year offers hope for a world suffering from the impacts of war, the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the climate crisis.
As Pilgrims of Hope, we are reminded that life itself is a sacred journey guided by God’s love. This Jubilee invites us to deepen our relationship with Christ and walk together as a community reminded us, Jesus, ‘is the destination of our pilgrimage’. He is both the way, and the path to be travelled.
Our school will honour this holy year through prayerful celebrations, service projects, and educational experiences that encourage students to embody the values of mercy, forgiveness, and hope. This will help remind us that, as pilgrims, we are called to bring light and joy into the world through small and meaningful actions.
Let us embrace this sacred journey as Pilgrims of Hope, trusting in God’s guidance and moving forward with courage, kindness, and a heart full of faith.
May this Jubilee year bless our school and inspire us all to walk together with hope, compassion, and joy.
Father in heaven,
may the faith you have given us
in your Son, Jesus Christ, our brother,
and the flame of charity enkindled
in our hearts by the Holy Spirit,
reawaken in us the blessed hope
for the coming of your Kingdom.
May your grace transform
us into tireless cultivators of the seeds
of the Gospel.
May those seeds transform from within both humanity and the whole cosmos
in the sure expectation
of a new heaven and a new earth,
when, with the powers of Evil vanquished,
your glory will shine eternally.
May the grace of the Jubilee
reawaken in us, Pilgrims of Hope,
a yearning for the treasures of heaven.
May that same grace spread
the joy and peace of our Redeemer
throughout the earth.
To you our God, eternally blessed,
be glory and praise for ever.
Amen.
Well done to everyone who performed in our Year of the Jubilee poetry competition! Congratulations to our winners: Y1 and Y6!
