Hello and welcome back!
We hope you have all had a lovely Easter.
Our topic this half-term is 'The Great Outdoors'
We will be doing a lot of our learning outside this half-term; identifying seasonal and daily weather patterns in the U.K and using basic geographical vocabulary to describe key physical and human features in our local environment.
We will also be discussing what happens when you camp, if you have been camping before please feel free to bring in your photographs or any memorabilia from your trip.
If you have any resources that we could use to make things; such as empty cereal boxes, toilet rolls, large cardboard boxes etc please could you bring them in for us.
In Literacy we are listening to a range of stories set in the outdoors and discussing the thoughts and feelings of the main characters.
We will then lead on to writing our own non-fiction booklets based o the outdoors.
In Numeracy we are continuing to count, read and write numerals to 100, begin to recognise the place value of numbers beyond 20 (tens and ones) and finding one more and one less than numbers to 100.
Our R.E topic this half term is 'Pentecost'. We will be re-telling the story of the Pentecost, recognising the signs and symbols used during Pentecost and discuss our own holidays.
Reading books will be changed every Monday, homework will be sent home on Friday to be returned on or before the following Thursday.
Extra phonics homework will also be sent to help prepare your child for the phonics screening in June.
This half-term we have P.E Thursday mornings.
Thank you for your continued help and support, we are looking forward to another great, hard-working half-term with your children.
